The medium of advertising can be deemed as a form of communication between commercial advertisers seeking to generate increased consumption of their products or services through what is called “branding”.
Basically, any medium can be used for advertising in the corporate world of creative marketing. Various methods and strategies have been used in order to obtain consumers attention by which to provoke shoppers in purchasing a specific product.
The age of advertising has undergone over a century of creative and artistic change. Ever since the economic expansion of the 19th century advertising became the focal point of creative planning and advertising with firmly established as a profession.
Advertising within non commercial guys is a powerful educational tour capable of reaching and motivating large audiences. Advertising justifies its existing when used in the public interest and can be powerful tool for commercial purposes. The golden age of creative advertising has not changed much in comparison to our modern time. The main elements which have remained identical throughout the decades of advertising are what are known as the for “Ps”, and these are: Products, Price, Place, and Promotion which is the process of reaching targeted market.
When we look back at old age or “Vintage“ advertising we can find same objectives used by advertisers then as they exist now, motivating consumers to purchase; which are : awareness, knowledge, liking, preference, conviction, and purchase. These elements can be seen ever since the early advent days of what is now deemed vintage or retro advertising. Despite the passing of time and technological advancement the basic principles and concept of advertising have remain same, in cooperating the good use of typographical elements, creative visual designs, and a targeted audience.
