London has hosted the Olympic Games on two occasions, in 1908 and 1948, and will host a third in 2012. The planned 2012 Summer Olympics will make London the first city to have hosted the modern Games of three Olympiads.
London is the only city in the United Kingdom to have ever hosted the Olympics; the United States is the only country to have hosted Summer Olympics on more occasions than the UK. The Opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics will be held on 27 July 2012 and will be titled “The Isles of Wonder”.
Over 10,000 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees are expected to participate, surpassing the 1948 Summer Olympics in London and the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester as the largest multi-sport event ever to be held in the United Kingdom.
With all of this Pre-Olympian commotion transpiring, 22-year old Photographer Joanna Kustra is bringing her own brand of style and imagination withing capturing the Esprit’ London Olympiad through her conceptual Photography, which is adequately titled : The Olympians , depicting the British Spirit of the Games in High Fashion definition.
Born in south-eastern Poland Kustra’s artistic skills manifested quite early in her life. Ever since childhood she had been fascinated with music playing the piano and oboe. Her interest with photography began at the age of 22 and within a short period of time, it went from being a hobby and developed into a true passion and a way of life for the young Artist.
Joanna is a self-taught photographer, and from the very onset she has been fascinated with people, portraits and fashion photography. Joanna presently resides and works between both countries of London & Krakow. You can view her complete online gallery at Joanna Kustra
