2019 Ford Fiesta Your Last Chance to Buy this Compact Sedan

The Ford Fiesta holds a legendary status in the car world and is one of the bestselling cars for the American automaker. Jumping to the present year, Ford has launched the all-new 2019 Ford Fiesta in all its glory.

The 2019 variant of the Fiesta is largely similar to the outgoing model sans a few minor tweaks both inside and outside the car. It is still the spunky little car that loves to go around bends and is always eager to give the speed thrills shall it be asked to do so.

Owing to Ford’s plan to concentrate on trucks and SUVs, this will be the last iteration of the Fiesta for the North American market. If you are looking to buy the Fiesta, this is the time to make your move and latch on to the last opportunity to buy the vehicle. 2019 Ford Fiesta MSRP starts at $14,260.

Driving and Performance

The 2019 Ford Fiesta is available in 4 different trims namely the S, SE, Titanium, and fiery Fiesta ST. The first three use a 120-horsepower inline-4 mated to either a manual or a dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the ST has a roaring 197-hp turbo-4 engine mated to a razor-sharp manual transmission. Although the manual transmission is a smooth and slick, the DCT automatic is clunky and the gear shifts are rather slow and unresponsive.

While the Fiesta posts a 0-60 mph timing of 9.1 seconds, it isn’t as playful and powerful as one would like it to be. The steering wheel is light and responsive around the bends and the suspension is sharp too which makes the need for more power rather apparent.

Interior

Inside, the design of the dash and the entire layout in general looks dated with a lot of buttons and hard plastics around the cabin. A 6.0 infotainment system mounted in the dash is there but is unable to light up the cabin as Ford expects it to. The seats themselves are comfortable in the front but the rear passengers might find it cumbersome move in and out of the car.

Sunroof and leather upholstery are all available as an optional extra but the car does well without them too. The shoulder room on the car is on the lesser side as it takes a direct hit from the sleek A-pillars. Overall interior space is definitely on the lesser side.

Exterior

Since the car is now in its 9th generation and has not featured a major overhaul since the last couple of generations, the styling does look a little dated and is certainly not going to draw any customers to the showroom. The front sports large hexagonal chrome heavy grille and sleek looking headlights that go wide in the side of the front fascia. The sloping is roofline goes all the way the back where it meets the large angular tail lights.

The multi-spoke alloy wheels with low profile tires add a little oomph to the look of the car and make it look a little livelier. But overall, Ford could’ve done a better job in terms of exterior styling.

Final Verdict for the 2019 Ford Fiesta

The 2019 Ford Fiesta has its set of flaws but that doesn’t hide the fact that it’s still one of the better driver-centric cars in the market. The way it eases around the corners is awesome for a car of its stature. The lack of power is evident but then that’s exactly what spawned up the ST variant. It certainly does not have the most kit from the factory and is not the most comfortable or sorted riding hatch but it has its place in the market and will go to stay as one of the better-selling cars for Ford.
