It also can act as a source to persuade membership inclusiveness by asking members to write in questions for a column or provide success stories or other information that they may feel is relevant to the site.

You can also give your social media followers the opinion to opt-in to your regular newsletters. If you think you need a bigger presence on social media, use SocialGreg to increase your audience and manipulate the algorithm in your favor.

Regular email contact must be established, as this makes your members feel involved in the running of the company, especially if you encourage input into these emails and newsletters

So, what should you include in your newsletters?

Here are some of my favorite marketing ideas, just to get you started.

1. Mention to the readership of the new content you have added or changed to your membership site in that or the coming week(s). Provide a brief synopsis of any articles to entice or to grab the attention of the reader and to direct them to read the whole article.

2. Provide a summary of interesting discussions hosted on your forum in the past week. This invites the readers to log into your forum and join the discussion, as well as giving an insight into the thoughts of other members

3. Discuss your blog posts for the last week, but also be certain that you describe to your members what you will be explaining or discussing in your blog for the following week. This will give your members a reason to log in during the week, just to catch up with the latest

4. It’s your choice on how much personal information you include in your newsletter about yourself or other staff members. Some membership site owners often include a short update on their personal lives that weak to connect on a more personal level with their readers. However, for a business, the most effective solution is to stay completely focused on business but still remain friendly. You’ll need to decide what works best for you.

Does Internet Marketing Really Work?

When and how often will you contact your subscriber?

You should consider trying out a few options to discover the one that fits your operations as well as delivering the best results. This mostly depends on your target audience. Normal, everyday business people have a distinctly different schedule than students and, conversely, another different schedule than moms. Moms usually do not have time during the weekend to even open an email, but most weekday afternoons are relatively free. Your normal, everyday business person will usually be willing to open an email from you every weekday afternoon as long as it holds their interest. The answer is simply to consider the direction of your marketing and then to explore and test a few options.

In regards to your subject line, the same scenario that exists above is valid, and once again, testing is extremely important. You definitely do not want your newsletter to be sent straight to the trash, so the key is to keep it simple and benefit-driven towards your customers.
